Iteration #3

Image
For this iteration, I wanted to focus on working on different layers while trying to make the background a collage of the original posters used in the first piece on this project. I haven't quite figured out how to add multiple pictures to one layer, after doing this I had at least thirty different layers with a poster for the background.

Iteration #2

For this Iteration I was just focusing on how I could mess the photo up, I think I am having a difficult time doing these because I have a tendency to have things organized. I am trying to do things without putting in too much thought, it is more difficult than I thought. I am not completely satisfied with this because it still looks organized. I hope the next one could be a little more destructive. I tried to keep the theme women related by using a flower pattern.

Below is the original photo that I used for my first post on the second project: Destroy the Icon.

Project 1- Update

Image
I ended up switching photos of Marilyn Monroe. The first picture I had was not the correct size to work on. So with this image, I mainly tried to play around with layers and masking images on top of other layers. I think this turned out a little better than I thought it would knowing that I am unfamiliar with photoshop. I think there may be some things that I need to change to make it look more together because right now it looks a little chaotic. After working on this I do feel a little more comfortable using the software so I think that I will be able to make the changes that I want. Also my theme for this project is women & women empowerment, mainly because Marilyn Monroe is the subject of the piece.

Fantasy Appliance Update

Image
So, below is my combined object and fire fly on my background that I used before in the beginning. The main reason to why I chose a fire fly as my second object is because the body of the fire fly glows, the same was a kerosene lamp does. It was really challenging trying to find something to combine my object with having some sort of food reasoning. The background is not exactly how I want it and I also may go back when time permits to see if I could possibly create my own so it correlates with the Gradient aspects of my two objects. But this is so far my final. Feel free to comment and/or give feedback.

Fantasy Appliance Update

I stayed up all night trying to figure out a way to attach my appliance to the fire fly. I had difficulties figuring out the different shades and tones of gradient because I didn't want a light part to be touching a light part in any areas that wouldn't look good. I think that is what took me the longest. Now I just have to add a background. I am not sure if I want to make my own or still with the original one that I started out with. The final update will be posted tomorrow. Feel free to give feedback.

Fantasy Appliance Update

Image
This past weekend, I ran into a bit of trouble with having to start over from scratch. I had the idea to start over because I misunderstood the project. With round 2 of starting over, my project deleted because my laptop restarted and I was a bit frustrated that I had to start over for the 3rd time. However, I think that is what I needed in order to get the outcome that I have below. It took me a while to figure out how to work the gradient tool. This is the final look for my fantasy appliance portion of this assignment. Now I have to attach my second object which will be a fire fly. I will have another update posted soon.
